Elizabeth with the help of friends while her hand is mending has written 360 letters and says “It works!” Knowing that 62% of letter receivers vote keeps her going.
Labor Day is a marker that reminds us that the election is soon. Everything we read and are told tells us the most important activity right now in North Carolina is getting Democrats out to vote. Power of the Pen is a project that is focused on get out the vote.
Have you signed up yet? Over 500 women have signed up to write letters in Durham over past elections, yet this year we have only 51 people so far who are writing letters in Durham. We are way behind.
This program is proven to work—encouraging otherwise reluctant voters to actually go vote. We have the votes and we can win if we just get them to the polls.
