I know you all have voted. I know you all have reached out to friends and neighbors and colleagues and made sure they have voted. And I know lots of you have written letters to lots of women in Durham urging them to vote. And canvassed and made calls. And worked the polls. And all of those efforts are making a difference. So thank you! Thank you!
Sunday when I was working the North Regional Library what do you think I found in the recycle bin at the exit from the polls? A Durham Women Vote letter, cleverly written by someone on a card made up of our Obama Straight Flip card! Whoever got that letter brought it with them to the polls to help them vote -- a clear example of the effectiveness of Durham Women Vote and our hard work!
And now we only have one more week to work hard…to make a difference in this election. It is still so close.
Help us Get Out the Vote! We still need to reach out even further and invite, urge, coddle and cajole every last remaining democratic leaning voter who hasn't voted and help them get to the polls. It is that close. Every vote will matter. Every vote will make a difference.
So please, join Ariel and Holly's outreach into public housing projects this week. Every day from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. There are folks there who need our help to get to the polls. RSVP to Ariel at 919-308-6120 email@example.com
Canvass your neighborhood. Or head over to your local staging location and join other Obama supporters in highly targeted outreach to folks who are registered democratic and haven't been out to vote yet. You can find the closest staging location to you at our website www.durhamdemwomen.org
If you can't canvass, then volunteer to make calls or drive folks to the polls. Whatever you can do to help out Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday…that's all we got…and we need your help every day you can. Check out https://my.barackobama.com/page/event/search_simple Don't forget to change the radius to 5 miles from your home!
Help us cover the polls. And we still need to cover all the early vote polls -- especially as the week goes on -- and more folks who need to register as well as vote show up. We need to make sure that folks who come to the polls have the information they need to not only vote for the President but to support the whole Democratic ticket and to support Fair Judges. And we have to make sure that folks are not prevented from voting. We can expect there will be efforts to intimidate new voters cause the other side knows every vote counts too, and we know that they will stoop to anything. We need to be there to see what's going on and call in Voter Protection.
We still have shifts uncovered at North Regional Library this week: If you can help out on Tuesday or Thursday during the 5-7 shift please contact Kate firstname.lastname@example.org or Sondra at email@example.com. Or call me at 202-271-7163
South Regional LIbrary also has shifts to cover this week: Tuesday, 5:00-7:00 PM and Thursday 9-11 AM and 3:-5:30 PM. Contact Mark Hellman firstname.lastname@example.org or 919-594-0231 if you can help.
